Nate was born and became the center of our world.

Something's wrong
At eight weeks, Nate began vomiting and became unusually sleepy. CHOP imaging showed hydrocephalus caused by a rare choroid plexus tumor.
Oneweek
Three surgeries
Nate had three surgeries, including an EVD placement and biopsy. With Nate so young and the tumor so vascular, a shunt controlled the hydrocephalus while he grew.

The comeback
Six months later, Nate was bigger and stronger. His neurosurgeon completed a gross total resection. Recovery required another shunt, but Nate did well.
Today
Home, crawling, grinning
Nate is home, crawling, pulling himself up, and smiling at everyone. We're grateful to the CHOP team who saved his life.
